Just thought I'd let you know. I'm a complete novice when it comes to mechanical things. After my Stella trip my pads needed changing back and front. When I bought the bike the chap threw in a new set of front and rear pads.

It took me only 45 minutes to change them following the instruction in the BMW workshop manual. The only I help I needed was from my man about the house to tighten the torque bolts on the front caliper.

Who could believe maintenance could be so simple!!

It is not difficult to maintain your bike once you pluck up the confidence. Don't become complacent though as it is a machine and needs attention to detail. I recently had a scary moment when I forgot to tighten my rear axel after adjusting the chain. Luckily I didnt go too far before hearing the tension plates vibrating so I shot back home to rectify.
