[GS BMW 650]

Having just done a coolant change I noticed on my next run, that the temperature gauge was reading 4 bars high. Is this a normal operating temperature?, as I had not took much notice of the temperature level before. The bike as a radiator guard on as i know these can make the the bike run hotter.

It sounds like you may not have got all the air out of the system.
You need to open the radiator cap and squeeze the radiator hoses to get air out.
Not sure about your model but the 650Gs has a small bolt near the head that is the bleed screw.
Usually squeezing the hoses works fine.
Radiator guards and fork gaiters can interfere with airflow but 4 bars high sounds excessive.
