Hi, thanks for reading.
I have an issue I simply cannot figure out.
My 2007 BMW F 650 GS cuts out as soon as i touch the throttle.
It started after I did a long ride (4hrs), when it suddently wouldn't take gas.
It starts/ idles allright, but whenever i try giving it some juice, it stalls, and cuts off.
I have reset the ecu and unhooked the battery, to make sure all is reset.
I checked the fuel-filter, and pump.
I checked the (custom) exhaust, and sparkplug.
The sparkplug was loose (??), but after fastening it, it made no difference.
The airfilter is also ok.
So there is spark, air and gas, but alas...
It has been running great, and this just happened out of nowhere, so my guess it something broke, but what??

First it sounds like you may have fallen for an old tale. You cannot reset the ecu by unhooking the power to it. It can only be done with a diagnostic tool such as a GS911.
Sounds like the throttle position sensor is faulty, have a look at this link. It mentions broken wires on the TPS as causing the fault you have.

Hi Pete - thanks for answering. Yes, that would seem to be the issue. Will have a look at it tomorrow. That page is great for diagnosing issue. Thanks again
