I currently have the same problem, brand new Gel battery, If you have a multi meter when you get the chance disconnect the earth terminal and connect the meter set to amps between the battery terminal and the earth cable. This will tell you if you have a current draw somewhere. Then if you do then systematically remove a fuse at a time until you find the circuit causing the drain.

I thought it was the ticking clocks (it still could be that) capacitors can be faulty I've been told...

Did you ever get to the root of the battery drain.. as I'm also thinking of the inline 12v iso switch maybe to stop the drain..... But I need answers on what the problem is..
