Hey guys,

I recently had my bike serviced and MOT'd after being stored for 12+months. I took it out today and am finding a sudden loss of power for half a second when hitting the 45-50 mph mark, causing the bike to jerk before gaining power back. In addition to this the Tachometer needle jumps about 90 degrees and rests a 6000 rpm, which the engine isn't actually doing.

I'm stumped... Has anyone else experienced this?

I have heard of it, sometimes the crank sensor gets bits of metal in it and that upsets the readings and running. The jerk could be the throttle position sensor too. Clean the throttle position sensor and the idle air valve. Check all the rubber bits too, such as the inlet manifold for cracks and leaks.
