I cannot get trip meter up on 2004 F650GS. Suddenly disappeared while touring this week. Clock is OK and odeometer OK. Have looked at fuses and have taken battery off and re-connected. Can feel button click as before but trip meter does not appear. Any ideas?

Basic Itinerary: (OTTOMH) Once hitting the French side ( nice roads ) blap our way to a lovely châteaux for lunch then whack over the border for contraband in Belgium.
You know the black stickers that you put on your headlamp to prevent dazzle when driving on the continent, well, are they available for our bikes or is it common to make your own with insulation tape ?
