Had a little come-off today in wet grass. Only my ego and my rear brake pedal injured. I "straightened" the pedal in a vise and its functional but weakened and will rust. So, time for a new pedal.
Is oem the way to go or can anyone suggest an alternative that is better able to survive the...

OK so I've got this scooter for my daughter but she doesn't turn 17 until October and as it's a 125 she can't insure it until then, well not without paying a ridiculous sum.
I'd thought of insuring it in my name for a couple of months and then cancelling the policy, but that seems like a waste...
Recently returned from my first trip away on a bike, 9 days around the Alps and Southern France,
Can anyone suggest anywhere for my next trip?
I've got 7 days in Early September, and a small budget so camping is a must!
many thanks in advance
just got a taller screen from Puig for my 05 Dakar.
Went to fit it last night and came across a problem. The spacers on the Dakar screen are molded on.
Any hints on what might be a suitable replacement or where can I get a length of drilled plastic tube of a suitable diameter?
Hello all - new bike runs very smoothly but has a slight running hiccup; at idle he makes a noise like (I KNOW this is an impossible task, but...)
and so on. The engine just skips a beat every now and then. If I don't pay attention, when stopped at...
I mounted my Scottoiler on the left hand frame tube that runs parallel to my shin when I'm riding. I had to move the power socket, but that was OK.
I've now bought a Lube Tube from Scottoiler to increase the capacity.
Despite it's flexible shape I'm finding trouble looking for a place to mount...
I don't want to pay main dealer prices so I'm looking for suggestions / info on who to contact other than Mill BMW
The bike needs for sure:
new head bearings, (was a MOT recommend in 2002)
new chain ( & sprockets?), existing rubber in the links has perished and chain is sagging.
Service & MOT...
Evening all - still hoping to see some of you at the Ace on Sunday, but in the meantime -
My '00 FL has started to run a bit noisily and roughly, to my ears. Now I know that 'what's this noise' questions are a bit like 'how long's a piece of string' questions, but I'd still welcome any...
Is there a body of opinion on the subject of Road Only Tyres for the F650 ?
Mine`s a 95 standard and coming up for rubber soon.
As ALL of my riding is Tarmac I am wondering if the dual purpose type of tyre is an overkill....
Over to you in the studio........
Hi all! :howdy:
I?ve been looking around for panniers for some time now. So far, my favourites are H&B?s Alu Exclusiv, then H&B?s Gobi, then Metal Mule and Zega. But, I want to do a better research before go and buy anything!
I want to find aout what panniers fellow F650GS?ers use. I would...
After dropping my bike last week, I need to "unbend" one side of my CS handlebars slightly to get tham back in to shape. So far I've had two suggestions:
1. Take the end off the bar, stick something metal and strong up then bend the bars.
2. Stick a piece of scaffolding pole over the bar...
Hi all - I think the subject explains my plea; my OEM shock at 21,000km is 'tired' according to my garage, which goes along with what I've been thinking/feeling as I ride, so I'd like to upgrade.
I do a considerable amount of pillion on quite long tours, with camping luggage. :harley2: Between...
I am planning a trip to Morocco next year. I would be grateful for tips from previous visitors. Places to stay, good routes , things to do and see.
My F650GS 02 model has 20K miles on it and I would be glad to hear of any suggested replacements to carry or precautionary maintenance. I have...
What is the best chain lube?
I have been using wax which makes you chain look very nice but seems too thick leaving the chain dry.
Also, I don't want anything that will cover my semi-clean bike with oil.
Any advice will be greatly accepted
Hi all. I'm looking for suggestions about a niggling problem I'm having with my F650.
I recently bought it - 15k on the clock, good condition but kept outside unused for almost 2 years (under cover) before I got it. It passed its MOT and service with flying colours, but developed this problem...
