Hi Guys, been lurking here for a very long time (over a year), have just picked up a nice GS from the local dealer, got a great deal too (well I think so) Needed a set of SHB's though. dealer said 1.5 hours :not worthy: . So thought I'd have a go myself, and just finished the job in 3 1/2...

Hi, Looking at possibly purchasing a GS for a friend. One possible bike requires the Steering Head Bearings to be replaced and a front fork seal . Any ideas on cost of having this done.

Has anybody got the ID codes off the bearings fitted to the F/GS so I can go to my local bearing factor . (I am going to fit different yokes etc and would like to be prepared prior to fitting. ) Also is the service CD 2 discs or just 1 and does it show a wiring diagram? Thanks.

I know Steering Head Bearings are a ?well worn? subject with the F650 but even I was shocked Friday to be told my 03 model needs to have new ones. It has only done 2,600 miles. Looks like you need to change the bearings at shorter intervals even than the oil? The dealer, can only fit the BMW...
