Since my recent purchase, I was interested in getting more proper riding apparel. Quick look through google and I've found BMW's new gear is extremely pricy, and older gear is hard to come by, especially in certain sizes. I was wondering what sort of gear other riders wear? I'm debating...
I thought the attached booklet was interesting reading, and explains the real principles of bike control and dispels some of the internet myth.
Hope you find it useful

Never had a BMW until recently when I bought a 2006 F650GS single, great little bike and did exactly what I wanted it for.
Liked it so much decided to trade it in and bought a 2009 F650GS twin.
Since getting it I am getting pins and needles in my hands after riding for around 20mins, has...

It lashed down yesterday, leaving me a little shocked by how bad my visibility was through the visor! Okay it hasnt rained like that in a long while so im out of practice, but i would like your tips on how to ride in the wet weather.
Having one of those inserts on the visor helps, but its far...
Has anybody had their bike cut out while riding? I can be riding along when all of a sudden the bike loses the electrics. Its like turning the key off then on then the engine fires up again. There is no consistancy with the times or weather. Can anyone help?
Just a warning for people that you're not allowed to use all bus lanes in London. The media seem to have omitted to include in their comments on bikes being allowed to use bus lanes that it only applies to red route ones: http://www.tfl.gov.uk/roadusers/finesandregulations/10151.aspx

Hi all first time on this forum so hi to all, I have some nasty rattles coming from my CS when riding she has covered 39 thousand miles now. The rattles I am sure are coming from the front end of the bike, I have checked the fairings and screen and mudguard still can not find the problem:-(.
I've been surfing the web all night and I'm no closer to finding any ideas.
I've got upto £500 to spend on a new jacket and trousers, I'd tried on some HG stuff this morning an quite liked it but that was before 'the boss' upped my budget.
I'm going to go back to HG and try on some of the...
Well, after a ride from Thurso, to Chesterfield (with snow for the first 40 odd miles), by the time I got to Gretna, I realized that I was covered up to my knee with white road salt - or whatever it is that is put on the road these days when it's icy/cold/snowy etc. Instead of...
is anyone of you using an ixs starlight jacket, before i go and part with my pension money. i have an ixs flying eagle jacket that i bought years ago, cheap and go down to the pub in, seams ok, wondered what the new stuffs like.
Time for me to replace my aged Hein Gerick jacket and leggings. Have been considering a Dane 'Arden' jacket and 'Dragor' leggings, but havent any experience of this make. They look good but wonder if anyone knows for sure ?
I am planning on using my bike a lot more this winter, as i am insuring my son on my car.
I have some fairly good waterproof gear, but i need to get some decent thermals/undergarments as my commute is a long one.
Anybody have experience of good/bad ones? And are the compression ones any good...
I'm thinking about getting some textile riding gear (with armour) to replace my heavy (and hot) leathers.
The question is, "is it any good?" - has anyone had experience of a proper spill wearing textile clothing, I mean a proper, sliding up the road at 50MPH on your backside spill ?
I had the misfortune of having to ride upto Earls Court in rush hour traffic this morning on my own bike. I noticed a distinct drop in the road sense of a lot of the bikers I saw, the main gripe being going the wrong side of keep left bollards. I'm sure I haven't missed any changes in the law...
Hi all - went to start the bike today after a week or more idleness, and it was dead as a doornail. Nothing worse than a flat battery, but I wish I'd thought to check a few days ago as I was planning a weekend ride to Margate.
Some of the levels needed topping up a bit, and it's on an Oxford...
I passed my test in January of this year, promptly went out and bought a 54 plate F650. I love my bike, as a new rider though I'm having problems accelerating coming out of corners. Know matter how hard I try I cant seem to get it smooth. It always jerks as you twist the throttle, is this...
