I am in the process of fitting these tanks onto my bike All fits fine except for the front part of the airbox. Does anyone know how this is usuallt dealt with ? I have a few ideas but I'd like to know how its usually done. There's also a sensor built into the air box I assume this is a temp...

I have only had my 1996 F650 for 2 weeks and I'm not sure the range of the fuel tank. I fill up after every 150 miles. Anyone know how much more I could get before switching onto reserve. Thanks Mark

I am sure this has been discussed before, but I wondered how many miles people get from their reserve? I get somewhere between 175 - 185 miles before the light comes on. I try to leave it as long as I dare before filling up, but I still only manage to squeeze in 13.5 litres of fuel. I...

Hi, has anyone seen the new "Bike" magazine yet? Three new BMW 650 are depicted and described in their new metal for 2007 article. A hard enduro model, a super moto and a scrambler. I did not read it all, but for some reason they are called the G range. Alexis.

You've probabably seen this sort of thing before, but I was so impressed I had to mention it. Having only owned the F650GS for three weeks, and having filled the partially empty tank a couple of times since then, it was only about a week ago that I was able to let the tank run down to reserve...

Anyone know if a top-box which fits onto the the rack of a F650ST and presumably the Funduro, will also fit on the F650GS bikes and Scarvers as well? Thanks all.

Hi all I notice that the tanks on the CS and GS are a different size - 15/17lotres respectively. On my old CS I used to regularly get 170 miles before hitting reserve, followed by 30 miles before filling up, and then only getting in about 13litres max. I believe the gearing and tyre size is...

After reading many posts on the differing types of fork gaiters available i contacted Proline in Cardiff and had a special pair of neoprene gaiters made for me. Proline were more than happy to make them with a velcro fastening to facilitate easy fitting and removal. I had them made 280 x 60 mm...

Saw a reference to this on the Chain Gang, so I thought I'd put it here as well. Interesting concepts ... tubeless spoked rims like the 1100GS range? single-sided swing-arm, read on -> The "New" F650 range translated from Italian website

On recent trip to Spain the Beamer developed a missfire, especially noticible around 3000 revs, a kick is felt through the left foot peg. At first it was thought to be a carb blockage but having blown them through it appears to be no different. So my thoughts have turned to the electrics, i...

I saw this link on the Chain Gang forums, and thought it would be useful as a reference for us as well, even though we might not be ordering parts from the USA. Parts fiche, priced in dollars, but still a useful resource - http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/fiche/fiche.asp Here's another...

There are only two seats made by BMW for the F650GS range, one (low) normally supplied with the F650GS, and the Dakar one (high). Basically that's it from BMW, other than the "single" seat. However the Wunderlich high seat is even higher than the Dakar seat. Click below to see a selection of...
