I've fitted GS handguards to my CS and have stupidly contrived to lose one of the handlebar weights and its clamping piece. The dealer tells me a new clamping piece can only be ordered by buying an entire handguard fitting kit at a cost of about £65!
The clamping piece is a countersunk...
In response to a request on another thread, here's how I extended the BMW handguards on my 05 F650GS:
First, you need some plastic. Anything big enough, thick enough, and impact resistent enough will do. I used a 5 litre cereal box which I had lying around, unused.
Second, identify a section...
I have a GS with standard BMW handguards. I am looking for ideas for extending then to give some more protection from rain and cold through the winter. I know Touratech do some, but I dont know if they fit the BMW ones or just there own. Has any tried to make there own?
Any ideas please.
I ordered these from Touratech last week who advised I would have them in 10 days, they just told me that they wont have these in until at least the end of June because of a delay in their factory!
Has anyone got any spare or know where I can get an alternative?
