My brake light stays on because the front brake lever doesn't touch the little switch when released. The lever has a lot of free play (the ball end will move 13mm to and fro without operating the brake), and if pushed forwards (away from the handlebars) will connect with the switch. Should I...
Over the past week I have noticed a sudden weakness in the performance of the front brake.
I not have to apply about twice as much force to get the same amount of brake power.
The pads are fine any ideas?????????
Has anyone else had any problems with these screws?
I got all ready to do the brake fluid change and was stopped in my tracks.
They seem very soft too and are now a little miss-shapen :wall:
Walked away from it for the mo.
Any advice apart from a well fitting screw driver, is welcomed.
I hope somebody can help me with this one. I bought my '00 GS from BRM in Bristol in March. About 3 weeks ago the front brake started sticking on. In fact it would start to bind as I was riding along and got to the point where it actually locked solid in the middle of traffic in Swindon...
Looks like I need a new one, found this when doing the yearly oil change:
Anyone got a 30mm socket?! At least it is no circlip nonsense for me thank God.

I took my first spin on the motorway today and kept hearing / sensing a strange vibrating over 70....pretty sure it was coming from the back end of the touratech front hugger recently fitted? anyone else have this problem or any suggestions? the hugger is tight on etc ..butdoes have some flex in...
ok, front sprocket replacement on my 1996 funduro. It has a circlip holding the sprocket on as oppose to a nut on later bikes. I am fine changing the sprocket but have read various reports on what kind of circlip to use on the out side of the sprocket holding it on. Some reports suggest bmw...
My front brake has started squawking over the past fews days. It happens under hardish braking a second or so before the bike stops. The pads were changed on a service done about 5 weeks ago and the fluid level is fine. Any ideas?
I bought a set of crash bars for the F650 and to fit them you need to remove two bolts that hold the engine in the frame. The first one came out OK but the second one won't move. The nut came off OK but the bolt itself (an allen headed one) won't shift. I tried using a socket allen key and a...
When I took my bike test a few years ago I seem to recall the instructor talking about "flip-up" front style helmets ( like the Nolan X-lite and Calberg etc) saying that its illegal to ride with the front "flipped up" and has to be down and locked when riding ......
Any legal eagles out there...
When I recently replaced my ignition, my handle bars were rolled over where the brake line was in slight tension for a couple of months. When finally assembled, there was no pressure on brake lever.
Could this possibly be just the brakes need bleed, or should I just replace the brake line for...
Has anyone got a diagram of the front fork assembly?
I want to fit progessive fork springs, I have downloaded the F650gs manual and there is no mention/picture of the forks disassembled.
I just want to make sure that I get the springs round the right way, washers in the right order and the...
I have to replace the gaskets on the front exhaust of my 94 FL :-(
bike sounds like a main battle tank with a sore throat, you know what i mean !, :wall:
has anyone done this before, how hard was it and how long did it take.
Taking my chain off to clean it the other month, I unscrewed the front sprocket cover (as you do). On removing it, part of the engine came with it
The bit I'm refering to is the top screw hole (there's 3 with the cover). I managed to put the screw back into it and place it carefully...
Guys, thinking of replacing the front springs on my 2001 650 GSA. I was looking at the Wirth progressive springs, the bike has done 19500mls so probably need done. Been told it will make a big improvement to the handling etc. What kind of oil should i use 5w or 10w with.
