I am new here. A few months ago I bought a 2006 F650 Dakar in good condition.
I have been checking these forums for quite some time but this is my first thread.
I have done several modification to the bike such as :
KTM WP Fork
Removal of ABS
Hi, I'm getting new progressive front fork springs on my Funduro. Can I change those "easy way", not to disassemble whole front? Just open the fork cap, get old spring out, put new one in and thats it? Or is it?

Has anyone fitted them to the CS. I seen these fitted and it was not the right fitting to get them to stay over the thin fork seals on the CS at the bottom of...
Hi, I am in the process of renewing the fork seals on my 2003 F650GS. The right hand one came out ok by sliding the stanchion up and down as shown in haynes manual but left hand one refuses to come out. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Hello, something really stupid happened to me.
I started to ride my bike without taking off the lock which was on my front disk (I don't use it much, it was late and I was in a hurry, so I completely forgot about it).
Obviously the front wheel blocked and the bike fell over on its right hand...
I am in the process of doing my fork seals and was waiting in the dust seals from motorworks. Some arrived this morning after a 2 month backorder wait, the ones are for a F650 and are rubber, I was told BMW are not releasing the GS ones I ordered and these are the same size and fit, just...
for future reference,
I dropped a line to Pyramid about my cracked dust seals just to let them know I'd had a problem with them.
I made no requests for replacements etc. as I wasn't going to use them again anyway
anyhow, I just got an email from them to say they were sending me a new set...
just come back from a week away to find a pool of oil that's supposed to be inside my left fork leg.
I wouldn't mind but I only replaced them about 1000 miles ago and there's no sign of damage :dunno:
I'm just about to order some stuff from motorworks and I'm a little confused by the...
Hi, I just bought a 2002 F650 GS and am loving it :-)
However I have some oil leaking from the front right hand fork. It is coming out of the top of the fork tube (I think that's what you call it).
Any tips or suggestions or should i just run it to my local garage ?

Does any one have a good scource of fork oil and seals and break pads?
My right fork is leaking. i guess i need a heavy oil too. haynes is into stripping the whole front end orf and stuff. looks like a wee 3-4 hr execution just to take the forks off the yoke and bleed, remove the kit replace...
I want to change my fork oil as I don't think it's been done on my 02 GS Dakar. What type of oil should I use and how much in each leg?
Is it worth changing the standard fork springs for progressive ones whilst I'm at it?
Any advice appreciated!
Hi there to all, I think this is my first post, although I've had my 03 CS for 18 months or so. First off it's a great bike, which I use to travel 20 miles each way from the se of London to the NW of London. I've been doing the maintenance myself which is cheaper and quite rewarding.
well the time has come to replace my fork seals (and bushes)
but the question is what to use as a tool to put the new ones in.
I've seen references to a proper tool and home made ones but wondered what people had actually used and what worked.
also does anyone know where I could get the...
These days i'm going to change the fork oil. For a few weeks i met somebody that works as a prentice ( you know, a person that helps a mechanic). Since fork oil it's not a common merchandise here, they are using ATF oil (ATF used for powersteering) for all the forks. I've read that ATF...
My 2000 Funduro has only done 19K and has developd a leaking fork seal. I got the forks off but cannot budge the seals. We tried a fair amount of brute force by tugging and slamminmg the fork tube up to the seal , then tried heating and brute force. Still won't budge. It appears that the steel...
