Hello folks, I am open to suggestions, brands, solutions for this cold weather and my frozen hands. My hands freeze during the 40 minutes/1 hour twice per day journey. This happens even wearing thermal gloves and very good quality motorbike gloves on top. I know about heated grips, any of you...

Hi Guys, I'm expecting this problem to be due to the cold weather somehow, as that's the only things that's changed since yesterday, when it worked fine. To Summarize: Bikes ('04 twin spark f650gs) kept outside under cover. Went to ride to work this morning only to find nothing happens when...

Dark, wet, thick fog, couldn't see so had to open the visor fully; which of course meant no faster than about 45 mph. Eyes running, teers freezing, mud and other bits flicking at my face. Ohhhhh 32 miles run into work. Ouch ouch ouch. Don't understand, as I have a pinlock - correctly fitted...

Has anyone else found that their fuel economy has got poorer as the weather gets colder? For my last few tanks I've got 58 mpg, whereas I usually get around 66 mpg. This weekend, as well as fitting the heated grips, I plan to check the air filter, and do my weekly chain oiling. On another...

:think:Hi Guys, just come back from a three month tour of europe and the f650 has proved more than capable, but any sign of damp and low temperature and it becomes extremely difficult to coax it into life, regardless of the choke setting, removing the spark plug and turning the engine over revealed...

I am a bit confused about the BMW advice to ride straightaway after starting. I know this has been debated at some length with no apparent resolution -which is OK as long as there are no problems. When I ride straightaway everything is OK unless I have to stop at lights or junctions within...

Just replaced my R80RT with a Funduro with a cold start problem - starts ok with easy start when cold and it isnt a problem when warm. Apart from the obvious excuses like plugs, ht leads, damp, valve clearances does anyone out there have experience of like problem and cause and cure? :wall:

Hi Guys! I'm new here, having added a '94 F650 Funduro to the (ever increasing) stable. Other bikes include an R1100RS, an R80RTIC, and a 1981 Guzzi Mk1 California. I have to say that the bike I take out and have the most fun on is the F650, though I'm not sure if it will be so much fun...

You know when you're going on a decent run out, you jam a spud wrapped in tinfoil in the front exit curve of the F650 exhaust? You'd think now summer's here they wouldn't take so long, but mine are getting less and less well-cooked as time goes on. Southampton - Exeter @ 5000 rpm last month...

Oh what joy. A snap of frost and my Dakar failed me. seems the Battery dies very quickly :wall: Tried and failed to bump the damn thing. Is it correct that to get at the battery you have to take most of the plastic of the silly thing? I'm hoping it's just a new Battery required. Any idea...
