Greetings fellow 650 owners. Having just taken ownership of a 2008 F650ST, I started cleaning it, and saw that the headlight was somewhat foggy inside. Something I have seen on quite a lot of bikes. I removed it from the bike and took out the bulb holder, and swilled lots of warm soapy water...
The wheels on the soon to be mine F650 are not great, very corroded.
Anybody know if its possible to get back in good order. Is there a good cleaner the get the heavy stuff off.
Any advise from the CS owners out there?
In the last week my bike has got coverd in brown dirt, so much so my wife thought my exaust had gone rusty in the road salt, until I wiped it off with my hand, so I'm going to clean it tomorrow.
Anyway, what I was wondering was, is there anything I...

can you help us out by deleting any posts that you may have which you no longer need in that forum.

I’ve just cleaned a couple of motors that were thick with years of baked on oil and road grunge. After scraping off the thick layer I then brushed on some. Swarfiga Heavy Duty Surface Cleaner and Degreaser. It’s biodegradable and works great. The bonus is there isn’t any smell from it. I bought...
I cleaned my carb last weekend (petrol, soapy water, rinsed, air dried for 24hours)
Carb was reassembled in lab conditions!
This temporarily solved a misfiring problem.
I?m going to try again this weekend, any tips would be welcome. I think the problem is the main jet air intake, how can I be...
Noticed the other day the front end of my exhaust pipe could do with a clean/polish up.. and especially now after seeing pictures of JB's shiny new one.

Thanks

It is absolutly great for this. you can get the steam jet into every nook and around the spokes etc..
also around the engine, the steam is not so hot as...
Hello,
I've moved from cosy Oxford to London a couple of months ago. Living in a block of flats, I don't have my own driveway anymore and so lost my space to service and WASH my bike.
I've looked around and found this place called "Mo-Clean" who specialise in cleaning bikes, but I found ?50 a...
General question about looking after off-road boots, can anyone advise on how they clean and what they treat their boots with, especially if they are prone to regular dousings in mud and water ;)
 Martin
I was going to begin this post 'what's the best way to clean my '99 f650' but truthfully what I mean is - is it safe to jet wash it clean? I'm thinking more of a home Karcher washer, not a garage-powerful one. And obviously I'm thinking be VERY VERY careful around bearings, gaskets etc.
I've...
I've just taken the air filter out of my F650 Mk1, which was rather mucky (all your fault, Trevor ;) ). Cleaned it, and it's drying now. The chaingang website suggests to cover it in 'watersoluble' cleaning oil or somesuch stuff.
Any idea what to use? Or just let it dry and put it back in...
