Hi there The fuel consumption on my 1998 F650 is a bit high (6.5 to 7 liters/100km, which translates to 33-36 mpg). I’ve gotten it down to 4.8 l/100 km once, but I don’t quite remember what I did different. I’ve been fiddling around with the idle speed adjuster, but it seems like the choke is...

I repeat this for a few minutes and it will eventially fire and run properly. I have to put the choke on full when...

BMW F 650. My F650 would not rev over 4000rpm.Usually water in the carbs so drained this .Then found inlet rubber split so changed that. However the Choke or enricher seems broken the spring pops out of the side of the carb body when off. It seems to go through a plastic nut but this has...

My F650 funduro has decided it it is only going to run when i have the choke on. I have stripped the carb and found some small flakes of dirt in the float bowls. I cleaned them out and blew the carbs through with an airline but it remains the same. I need choke to start it and keep it running...

The faq's say that the idle should be 13-1400 rpm, my bike is around this when warm; but, the choke doesn't seem to bring the revs up! Is there any way to check if the choke is working? Thanks. Jim.

The bike on choke does not seem to rev very highly, Not enough to warm the engine up properly in the morning. Any suggestions? Could it just be the choke cable needs adjusting? Rich

When I was at the BMW rally at Beaulieu I was speaking to a fellow F650 owner. We were talking about fuel consumption and choke etc. I said that I have rarely used my choke. I purchased my bike back in February and may have used the choke once or twice in Feb but haven’t had the need to since...

For some reason my 650ST has decided it does not like starting on the choke. It starts ok without, but then needs a little bit to keep it ticking over. It otherwise seems to run alright once it has warmed up. I'm going to check the plugs, but can anyone suggest what else I could look at...
