My Inlet manifold on the carb looks knackered cracked with some superficial splits. I have no problem yet but thought I’d be pro-active and bung a new one in. The Clymer doesn’t tell you how to get this thing out! Any one done it? Do you need to take the carbs and air box out or can you slip...

Hello All, my first posting :-D I have a '95 Funduro, which I bought in Dec '06. Running it over the Dec - Jan period I experienced great difficulties with cutting out at low revs on the coldest, dampest days. I went through all the usual checks, HT leads, Plugs, CDI, REG/REC etc.. In the end...

I am about to strip my carb down, to solve the 'petrol puking' problem. Before I start I want to make sure I have any bits that I may need. Is there a carb service type of kit available? Cheers, Jim,.

I just boguht my 1997 F650ST on July 4th and it had problems with hesitation. Of course, I focused immediately on the carbs and did all the usual quick and easy stuff to solve the problem. This weekend, I actually opened the manual and followed it's trouble shooting suggestions. It stated...

From IDLE MIXTURE thread >>>which way to screw the screws? for lean or rich<<<< >>> i.e in >>> weak<<< or out >>>rich<<< Keep it a touch rich to prevent stalling when coming back down to idle. Treat yourself to an angled screwdriver. Make an easy job of the mixture settings. I've had one for...

From the scanty evidence on Chain Gang and here, I can only get warm fuzzies about Uni Foams but nothing conclusive. There may not be any appreciable improvement over stock foam element though (???) If there is, there is not much evidence other than a few half sentence reviews here and there...

Thought I've done everything by the book, but it still doesn't want to start. I replaced the inlet manifold rubber, took off the carbs because petrol was streaming out the airbox. Cleaned the carbs and replaced it. Put a new air cleaner in and new spark plugs. There is petrol in the float bowls...

I am aware that the early injected bikes suffered from surging and stalling. Mine is a 97 ST with carbs. When I got it, a few thousand miles ago it was a stolen / recovered one with the petrol cap wrenched open. So of course I had to remove the carbs and tip the water out. I fitted a new...

I've stripped down the carb on my F650, with the aid of the Clymer Manual and the f650.com FAQs. However, the main jet won't come out. Nor the slide (grey plastic thing). I have removed the threaded screw from the top of the jet. Should the main jet just fall out now? Help gratefully aqppreciated.

I've got the early F650 Funduro, which doesn't have a clock (lh side of instrument panel or cockpit, er aeroplane?) but in it's place a temp gauge, not just a light; where the newer models have the temp light I have a blank. Everything looking at the bike in driving direction, as if sitting on...
