I bought a 2004 Scarver as a commuter bike - brilliant!!! Handles like a 250 but easily pulls to 90 mph, sorry, 70 mph! BUT, I just had a catastrophic failure of the rear belt sprocket. Close examination shows it was worn out. So, I need a rear sprocket and a front sprocket. The belt...

A few weeks ago my CS drive belt went heading up towards hamstead. I walked up and down trying to find it, but I don’t know where it went unfortunately, as I would have liked to see the condition it was in. I guess it had done 35-40k, not sure as there was a clock change at some point...

Hi, I have just got a new belt fitted and it is makeing allot of noise. I have only gone 2 miles but it sounds like it is rubbing. I have checked it and it dosen't seem too tight (I don't have a center stand so can't check it properly, but I am baising it on this...

I have a 2004 F650CS. At the rear end of the swing arm, either side of the adjuster screw are two pinch bolts. These seem to periodically work loose. The first time I noticed this was after a 2500 mile trip abroad, when one bolt fell out. The bike had it's 12000 mile service prior to the trip...

Any advise from the CS owners out there? In the last week my bike has got coverd in brown dirt, so much so my wife thought my exaust had gone rusty in the road salt, until I wiped it off with my hand, so I'm going to clean it tomorrow. Anyway, what I was wondering was, is there anything I...

I have a 2004 F650CS which has done 12000 miles and has a hole in the belt drive. Looks like a stone has picked up on the pulley wheel and punctured a small hole in the belt. It's not a distinct hole, the material has been pushed up and punctured. It's about 2mm wide and fairly central on the...

Guys, working on an F650CS, 2003, belt drive. How is the belt tension adjusted ? Though it's already a low seat model, we need to lower it even more for a very short rider. I'm thinking this means longer links between the triangular pivot at the bottom of the shock and the swinging arm. Anyone...

Having snapped my belt drive this morning, luckily about 20m from my house! I now need to replace the belt and whilst at it I thought that I would replace the rear tyre which has a temp repair plug in it. My questions are; Does a normal socket fit the rear wheel nut which according to the manual...

Do you need new pulleys to go with a replacement belt? BMW Berlin say you do, without checking. But then, the front costs €470 and the rear €140... Close to €1,000 simply for a belt change... Of course, they would say that if they were more concerned with how much they could earn off of you...

 Can anyone tell me were to find info on adjusting the belt drive on my cs. I have downloaded the repair manuel from the link on this site and the section in question is missing. Is that a cunning plan by BMW to keep said info out of the hands of us DIY mechanics, or have i missed...

Just rang BMW dealer in Southport about the cost of the tools for adjusting the belt tension on the cs (the measuring device and the suspended weight) they say they are not available and would cost over £300! is there a easier method of doing this yourself or do you have to go to a BMW dealer...

Praise be for the glorious summer weather that we've now got, but it's causing me a problem  New Hein Gericke "Air" summer clothing is working well at keeping me cool, but the trousers have no elastic in the waist band, just belt loops. Anyone know where I can get a suitable textile...
