Certainly looks like it to me. Can't be sure because mines fitted with a fumoto quick release valve no spanners needed. Sure someone will be along to confirm .
Hello again,
While carrying out an oil change I have come across a problem, where is my sump plug?
I have looked at YouTube and the videos show what I call a standard hexagon fitting sump plug.
But my 2005 BMW F650 GS does not have one!
Can I assume that it is the large torx bolt that can bee seen in the photo?
If so, what size torx is this bad boy?

I took the plunge, it take a T55 torx socket - which promptly stripped the threadsomething that has been mentioned on this forum!
So last night I laid the bike on its side, applied some heat to the bolt and with a large sized hex bolt wedged in gave it some wellie.
Off it came, just got to wait for my new sump plug to arrive![]()
Hi Kr4mo,
You are correct, I was unable to see the sump plug properly and assumed (incorrectly) that it was a torx.
This has now been confirmed when I managed to get the old sump plug out and the arrival off my new one today.![]()
