    Default Servicing my F650GS (2005)

    Hi,
After some advice, I have taken the air filter box off to get at the spark plugs to change them.
Firstly, I found some oil from the engine in the air filter box. This suggests to me that engine is blowing back through the breather pipe.
Secondly, at the bottom of the air filter box is a pipe which I assume is the drainage pipe. But on the end of this pipe is a stopper (see photo).
Surely the stopper should be removed to allow drainage of the air box?

I'm not sure about the pipe stopper - I can't see it on RealOEM.

However, it's likely that the oil is present not due to blow-by but due as a result of overfilling as this is very easy to do.

Hi Andy, overfilling is my guess. Had a look on the EalOEM and I think it is number 10

I agree Perry, I shamefully confess that I looked at the wrong diagram.

I reckon what you have shown; the plug is there only to be removed to drain oil.

Hopefully you don't have anything to worry about WRT blow-by so happy days - keep riding!
