    Default Coolant Fan

    Just changed the water in the rad,with fresh anti freeze,
    with the bike ticking over how long should it be before the fan kicks in

    It should be 5-10 minutes max if I remember what mine did when I changed my coolant. It doesn't take very long for the limited amount of coolant to heat up!

    I probably revved mine a little to speed up the process of getting the engine to its normal operating temperature!

    Hi Baz, Two things which might be of help. Compared to some Jap bikes, the F650 fan is very quiet in its operation and hard to hear running over engine noise. If you have access to a temperature gun, the coolant temperature can be measured externally from the inlet pipe to the radiator. The fan should cut in at 102 degrees C. After several previous attempts to run the engine at idle on the center stand for about fifteen minutes were unsuccessful, I resorted to the the temp gun method. This was done after a two hour ride with a thoroughly warm motor.
