Hi.
Here are a couple of pictures of my "new" bike. Sorry they are not very good, as it will just not stop raining:mad:
So far i have fitted the low front mudgaurd, and stanction protectors, i have to finish it off, as bolts need counter sinking, but as i have to replace the dust shields on the forks and re paint the lower half, it will wait until i do that, its getting there but still loads to do.
A tip to beat the hose pipe ban, as you know i like to keep the bike clean, so went to local hardware shop and bought a 5 lt plant sprayer for £13.00. Its great, as you can use hot water in it, pump it up and it removes all the dirt, but the pressue is not enough to damage seals and remove grease.

Great idea! do you water he garden with it too?

My garden is so wet all the plants think they are water lillys !!!!!!
It is a good thing, as 12 years of accumulated muck under the bike was removed by "gunking" first then using the sprayer with hot water. You can clean up under the rear wheel, and get at all the places a hose will, but with a bit of pressure.
I can see some one marketing one as "pressure motorcycle cleaner", oh if only i had a business brain.:)

When I bought this 2007 model F650GS in February 2012 it had only travelled 32km/20mi since new and was still in original condition (except for a few scratches from falling over once or twice) - right down to the original fuel in the tank!!

It's undergone a bit of a transformation since then and I've ridden it another 4832km/2900mi since then ...

[/QUOTE] Looks nice, youve obviously thrown quite a bit of money at it, love the aftermarket seat, looks much more comfortable than the stock item. regards Jim:thumb:

Thanks!

Actually most of the money was thrown at my 2006 F650GS Dakar which was written off in an accident in January. Fortunately only a few accessories on my Dakar were damaged in that accident and my husband was able to remove all the other accessories. In addition, I was able to buy back some of my Dakar bits from the insurance assessor and buy some second-hand accessories. The only new bits on this bike are the tyres, tank protection, headlight protector, headlight modulator, 21" Excel rim (which we already had) and the side-stand enlarger (my husband forgot to remove the one fitted to my Dakar).

love the aftermarket seat, looks much more comfortable than the stock item.
So do I - and it is!! It's a standard height seat that I had re-shaped by a motor trimmer who specialises in motorcycle seats. Prior to re-shaping I could only ride for about an hour before needing a rest break due to discomfort - now I can ride comfortably for 3-4 hours (ie, a tank of fuel)

New gel seat

Nice bike gary ,ive had my 02 gs for 7 months and the thing that was driving me mad was the seat ,after riding for an hour or so my arse went numb tingling pain , i tried to buy a sergent seat but they dont do one for a lowered seat so over the winter i got a gel seat fitted into the seat and had the upolsterer to put a bit of red into the seat and i took the panels off the bike and i sprayed them red just to add a bit of colour to the bike i tried the bike at weekend and its a massive improvement with the gel in it was money well spent
