Joy at last, hope you get some use out of the bike now, or will you splash out and get the F800r?
  2. BS - sorry, sent my message twice because the first one did not seem to be showing as "sent" in my PM system. Yes, I would have heated things as well - probably a bit more than 40oC but that is because I am a chemist not an engineer. Motorrad are closed Mondays but on Tuesday I will call and ask "have a look" at the offending bit of my bike. I am old and in my years I have always learned to be suspicious - one wonders if they have initiated some other goof up?

Hi Snodvan. Not allowed to use a hammer....hmm How stupid does that sound. According to my manual you have to heat the bearing housing up to 40 degrees to help ease the bearings in and out Are they aware of that? I would say that using a hammer willy nilly on the hub would cause damage to be honest. I was cautious using a well placed drift and tapping at very selected housing points but with the bearing housing heated they came out with no problems what so ever. Your saga continues my friend!
